The Florida Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC), was privileged to assist Veteran, Nathan Pollock, in sourcing an SBA loan for the new cigar bar and lounge, “Patriot Stogies,” in New Port Richey, Florida. Nathan and his wife, Jackie, will jointly manage the business. Nathan proudly served our country for 20+ years as an Army helicopter pilot. Celtic Bank of Miami’s SBA Division provided the financing.
Nathan said, “I was working with two different lenders so that I could make an offer on a building. The first said they could not support my business idea. The second wanted me to talk more about the building in my business plan but still couldn’t guarantee they could support me. As I was about to dedicate time to changing my business plan to talk about the building and fearing it would get sold before I could even make an offer, the VBOC was able to find me a lender who could support my business, and they quickly got me a commitment letter. I was then able to put a contract on the building. Additionally, the VBOC was able to set me up with a free consultation with an attorney to discuss a zoning issue with my building’s sign. I appreciate the advice and counsel I have received from Jim Paul, Brent Peacock, and the rest of the VBOC team with the assistance they have provided me along the way.”
The entire Florida VBOC staff wishes Nathan and Jackie the best of luck with their new business!
