Victor Gausp contacted the Florida Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) in August 2024 with a vision to open a high-end barber shop in Palm Coast, Florida. A U.S. Navy veteran, Victor served as a Petty Officer First Class (E-6) and brings over 12 years of experience in hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems. He also held roles as a Technical Recruiter supporting transitioning veterans and as a materials handler with a local company.

Motivated by a strong desire to become self-employed, Victor set his sights on launching his own business. The Florida VBOC provided guidance throughout the early stages of development, assisting with a feasibility study and introducing him to the Business Model Canvas as a structured approach to business planning. With this support, Victor successfully completed his business plan in November 2024.

On March 20, 2025, Victor officially opened Lion’s Mane Haircut Lounge, LLC. Since launching, the business has already created jobs within the community, hiring two professional barbers and establishing itself as a premium grooming destination in Palm Coast.

Victor’s journey reflects the impact of veteran-focused entrepreneurial support and demonstrates how structured planning and mentorship can translate vision into a successful small business.
